PA Chemical Industry Council names Jeff Peters as President

The Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council (PCIC) has named Jeff Peters as the organization’s new President. PCIC’s longtime president, Pamela Witmer, resigned to be sworn in as a member of the state Public Utility Commission on June 30 following her nomination by Governor Corbett and unanimous confirmation by the PA State Senate.

PCIC is the advocacy organization and information resource for the state’s chemical industry and works to continually improve the business climate of the chemical and related industries through public policy advocacy, communication and education. PCIC members include major international chemical companies as well as smaller PA based firms and related interests. These companies are committed to the responsible management of chemicals and to job creation and retention in the state.

Bravo Group manages the PCIC and provides government relations, communications and public relations, administrative and technology services for the organization. Peters joined Bravo Group in July 2010 as a Senior Advisor following a career at Sunoco, where he led the company’s government and media relations group. He has a long involvement with PCIC and has served as the organization’s chairman.

PCIC Chairman Herschel Craven, Plant Manager for Ashland Performance Materials in Philadelphia, said: “Pam Witmer has provided outstanding service as PCIC president for over a decade. We know that she will be an outstanding public servant in her new role and wish her well. We are fortunate to have Jeff Peters as our new president given his long association with our group and his experience and knowledge of the industry and state government.”
