DEP Names New Southeast Regional Director Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Mike Krancer announced today that Cosmo Servidio, a businessman and former chief of staff to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Region II administrator, will join the agency on April 9 and will become the agency’s Southeast regional director when Joe Feola retires July 2. PCIC and ACC to host roundtable discussion April 3 Please join the American Chemistry Council and the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council for a roundtable discussion, “The Future is Now: Energy and Manufacturing in Pennsylvania.” The full details are available in pdf format here. Beaver County Ethane Cracker Shell announced late last week that they have signed a land option agreement to evaluate a Beaver County site for a potential petrochemical complex, including an ethane cracker facility. The Corbett administration sent out a press release praising the decision, saying that “Pennsylvania is ideal for this project.” An American Chemistry Council study estimated that more than 10,000 new permanent jobs would be created in chemical and supplier industries as a result of a cracker facility locating in the region – not counting temporary construction jobs.
